Sodium-ion battery is our latest rechargeable battery and its working principle is similar to lithium-ion battery. The electrode material used in sodium-ion batteries is mainly sodium salt. Although sodium ions are larger than lithium ions, resulting in a relatively low energy density, sodium-ion batteries are a cost-effective choice in situations where weight and volume requirements are not high. In addition, sodium-ion batteries perform better in terms of safety because they generate relatively less heat during a short circuit and have a lower temperature rise, so they are safer.
